In November of 2001 we were married and I packed all of my belongings and moved to Montgomery. Andy found out a few months before our wedding that he was going to be deployed to the Middle East 2 weeks after we tied the knot. I was nervous about being in a new, big city all alone- but once Andy came home, I knew more about the city than he did ;)
After being married for 4 years, we decided that we wanted to have a baby. We were estatic to find out we were having a baby girl. We decided to name her Brynn. Her 4-D ultrasound picture is below
In January 2006, Brynn was born. It was a very happy day for our family. We never knew how much happiness a child could bring into our life. She was so beautiful when she was born!
Shortly after Brynn's 2nd birthday, we found out that she had kidney cancer on a well baby appointment. She had a Wilm's tumor on her left kidney. She was rushed to Children's hospital for surgery to remove her kidney and the tumor. Her surgery went well and she recovered quickly. She then received 17 rounds of chemotherapy. This was a very emotional time for our family. It has now been a year since she was diagnosed and she is doing exceptionally well. She is starting preschool this year and she is very excited about it!
As far as Andy and I, Andy is still loving his job with the police department and I am back in school for my nurse practitioner degree. Life is looking up :)
